Rita Sims...
How does one describe a Rita Sims???
She is brass, hard headed, opinionated, superstitious, outrageous, nosy, curious, Hot Blooded, and pushy...
And I wouldn't change her for anything!
Rita was one of the Icons for many years at Alamo Village. She was the cook in the cantina, and she told everyone what to do. (not that we listened) hehe.
She never had children of her own and she considered the kids at the Village her own. She certainly bossed them around like they were hers. And I for one LOVED IT!!! I still do. "I even call her mom."
Rita was at the center of everything that happen at the Village. She was there the summers of Johnny R, & Dottsy. She cooked for the likes of Dean Martin, Jimmy Stewart and Raquel.
She invented Portuguese tortilla's a dish that is STILL on the menus these many years later. And her enchilada's are to die for.
I've painted her to look like very cantankerous old soul haven't I?
Well she is, that is just what makes Rita be Rita.
But she was also loving, sweet, tenderhearted, sentimental, and giving. There are many sides to this hot blooded Mexican, I love them all.
There are so many stories that we all could tell about Rita Sims.
I hope you will click on the guest book, and tell your Rita story, I know EVERYbody has one...
